This position is directly responsible for the operations/performance of of two or more therapy departments in his/her specified area in accordance with procedures and policies as established by each facility, Medicare, private insurance, and TMC.  In addition to managing performance within each department, the Area Manger will also perform duties, which are specific to his/her discipline, as required.  The Area Manager will be active in his/her specific discipline associations, both state and national.  

• Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of Therapy Management Corporation.
• Operational responsibilities to oversee up to 4 sites.
• Lead and direct the work of Rehab Directors.
• Ensure staffing levels are planned and scheduled, as needed, in accordance with Medicare/facility/ Therapy Management Corporation requirements.
• Ensure documentation including, but not limited to, new hire paperwork is completed in accordance with Human Resource policies prior to beginning work and/or patient care. Ensure the education of all new hires with regard to company policies, procedures and documentation.
• Participate in facility and Therapy Management Corporation meetings as required.
• Assist/educate Rehab Directors to ensure accuracy, timeliness and organization of all paperwork in accordance to Medicare and Therapy Management Corporation requirements.
• Assist/educate Rehab Directors to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and organization of billing and payroll logs according to Therapy Management Corporation policies.
• Monitor therapists’ productivity and provide guidance/direction to maximize performance if results are below standards.
• Inform Rehab Directors of all changes in policies and procedures as dictated by facility, Medicare, insurance, and Therapy Management Corporation and ensure the communication flow continue to all departmental staff members.
• Responsible for daily interaction with facility and Therapy Management Corporation staff; promote a positive work environment.
• Assist in the maintenance and implementation of special programs.
• Complete required performance appraisals for Rehab Directors and ensure the timeliness of performance appraisals in their area, which will include making recommendations with regard to new hires and promotional situations.
• Counsel staff when necessary with direct input and approval from Regional Director, and Vice President of Human Resources. This will include all levels of discipline from informal staff meetings to terminations.
• Ensure therapy department has sufficient supplies/equipment by making requests as appropriate.
• Comply with his/her discipline specific job description including but not limited to the physical strength requirements.
• Develop professional working relationships with Therapy Management Corporation staff, facility team members, residents, and resident family members.
• Communicate relevant facility, patient, and/or staff issues to Regional Director in a timely fashion.
• Meet standards and accomplish goals related to utilization and finances as established by Therapy Management Corporation.
• Review and prepare reports.
• Any other job duties as assigned by the Regional Director.
• Treatment required as directed.
• Appropriate and Timely completion of the Ops Site Review Reports
• Responsible for the E-charting missing/late documents
• This position is responsible for directing all of the personnel functions of their assigned sites in accordance with the policies and practices of the corporation, the ethical and social consciences of business and society and the laws, regulations and administrative rulings of government organizations and other regulatory and advisory authorities.

  • Associate's degree in related rehab therapy profession or HS/GED with equivalent experience
  • 2+ years experience in the healthcare field, working knowledge of Medicare, insurances, and resident rights
  • License by the State in his/her respective therapy program
  • Ability to lift/turn, move positions, and transport patients in minimal assist situation
  • Ability to lift and control a minimum of 50 lbs.
